Since 2000 the Master’s in Advanced Architecture runs an international lecture program in which architects and experts from a variety of different disciplines present their work at IaaC. The lectures are open to the public, consisting in a high quality cultural activity open to the city of Barcelona.

Ben van Berkel > Opening Lecture 2016/17

Ben van Berkel studied architecture at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and at the Architectural Association in London, receiving the AA Diploma with Honours in 1987. In 1988 he and his wife, Caroline Bos, set up an architectural practice in Amsterdam named Van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau, which realized, amongst others projects, the Karbouw office building, the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam.

Winy Maas > Spring Lecture Series 2016

Winy Maas is an architect, urban designer and landscape architect and one of the co-founding directors of the globally operating architecture and urban planning firm MVRDV, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, known for projects such as the Expo 2000, the vision for greater Paris, Grand Paris Plus Petit, and more recently the Market Hall in Rotterdam.

Carlos + Borja Ferrater > Spring Lecture Series 2016

Carlos Ferrater is a Doctor of Architecture, a Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona. In 2006 he set up, along with Xavier Martí, Lucía Ferrater and Borja Ferrater, the Office of Architecture in Barcelona. Borja Ferrater is an architect from the International University of Catalonia. In parallel to his practice in OAB, Borja is currently Design Studio Teacher at the ESARQ UIC.
