From May 2 -5,  IAAC’s MDEF Director and Fab Lab Barcelona Leader Tomás Diez will attend AND& Summit to talk about Fab City initiative and present IAAC’s new master programme aiming to take design one step further by turning big ideas into great solutions

The Master in Design for Emergent Futures (MDEF) is about making possible the speculations about the future we want to create as society, and how to upgrade the systems we use to live in this planet, in order make possible for coming generations of biological life to thrive with the synthetic systems we are creating to extend our capabilities.

The programme sets a working team with Faculty from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and Elisava Escola Universitària de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona, and other partners such as Ideas for Change, Fab Academy, SPACE10, Kickstarter and now AND& Festival in order to challenge how we should learn in this new century.

The very first edition of AND& Summit is taking place from May 2 – 5  in various citywide venues in the intimate city of Leuven (Belgium). During the event, a well-selected worldwide collage of over 100 thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs and artists of all backgrounds will explore the impact of health, tech & creativity on future city life. Participants will have the opportunity of spending 4 days & nights amid inspiring talks, avant-garde music acts, a start-up & scale-up forum, a tech expedition & art interventions in public space.
