The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia – IAAC, wants to support the development of new architectural approaches by training professionals to take informed, creative and innovative actions in order to respond to the challenges of today. For this reason, IAAC and its industry collaborators offer a partial scholarship to study in IAAC’s Master in Advanced Architecture which begins in October 2023!

The objective of this initiative is to prepare the new generation of multidisciplinary skilled architects to practice radical architecture that creates positive cultural, environmental and social impact. Using real case studies and in collaboration with the industry, research centres and the European Commission, the scholarship recipient will work on novel architectural proposals through computational design and digital fabrication combined with the advancements from the construction sector, material science, synthetic biology and environmental science among others.

If you have a bachelor’s degree and you are enthusiastic about sustainable, intelligent and responsive architecture, then this is your master’s degree! You have until March 31st to send your scholarship application!

About the Master

The Master in Advanced Architecture revolutionises current architectural approaches and methods, and trains professionals to become the change-makers in the arena of architecture and the built environment towards sustainable and responsive solutions. To do so, the Advanced Architecture follows a “Learning by Doing” and “Design by Research” methodology, allowing to critically think out of the box and materialise novel architectural solutions for the current and future challenges related to the environment, society and to the linear and homogeneous approach in design and building.

Following a multidisciplinary and multi-scalar approach, the programme presents a unique academic structure, where students can create their own customised study agenda, according to their interests and their future career aspirations. Students can choose from a selection of different courses ranging from the territorial to the material scale, combining new technologies, biology, computational design, digital and robotic fabrication, among others.
