On 16th of March the Museo de Bellas Artes in Santa Cruz de Tenerife opens its doors to present the exhibition Scripts – a chronicle of incidents, directed by IAAC Open Thesis Fabrication Co-director Edouard Cabay, and displaying an extensive series of drawings mechanically created by automated plotting machines. The exhibition presents the 2016 work of Machinic Protocols, a Master in Advanced Architecture Introductory Studio led by Edouard Cabay and Rodrigo Aguirre.
The exhibition raises the questions of the replicability of an artistic artefact and the role of chance in creative experimentations. The moment in which the machine seems to lose the traditional precision that normally features, it is when the most powerful results are produced. The exhibition in Tenerife will be opened to public until March 27th and is directed by Edouard Cabay in collaboration with Mehmet Berk Bostancy with work developed at the IAAC and Appareil.
