Next May 16th the Urban Innovation and Renewal Congress: From Cities to Materials, presented and curated by IAAC Urban Sciences Lab International Programmes Coordinator Giovanna Carnevali, will take place at the Construmat BBSeries 18.

The seminar will reflect on the different scales of the concept of innovation-renewal, including the materials, construction systems, buildings, urban spaces, infrastructure and mobility which influence our everyday lives in cities. The Construmat BB Series 18 is a programme of three events in multiple formats with the aim of continuing to generate knowledge, encourage innovation and promote business in the construction sector.

In the framework of the gathering, IAAC Academic Director Areti Markopulou, with Mr. Rajendra Jagtap and Ricardo Devesa, will join the “Forthcoming Urban Commons” panel of experts, with the aim to discuss how smart technologies are useful to improve quality of life of citizens. The event will take place at the Palau de Congressos Montjuïc, Fira de Barcelona, During the Barcelona Architecture Week.
