Last November 23rd in Barcelona, the daily newspaper La Vanguardia organised a round table sponsored by Acciona, the Spanish group leader in Sustainable Infrastructure and Renewable Energy, on the theme of ”Open Innovation“. IAAC Robotic Expert Alexandre Dubor represented the Institute in the debate on the role of universities and technology centres in the creation of innovative ecosystems. IAAC and Acciona recently collaborated on the project of the first pedestrian bridge printed in 3D in the world, which was inaugurated last year in Madrid.
The Roundtable gathered innovation leaders, researchers and managers from leading Spanish universities such as Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and with high-tech start ups as HEMAV, Innocells and Smartive Energy. Alexandre Dubor highlighted the leading role of IAAC in “generating ideas and projects with the intention that they are internationally oriented, connect with local and global companies and, as a result, become a business”.
