During this year, IAAC consolidated its position as a centre of reference and excellence in the management of European research projects, recognised by the Catalan Government and the European Commission.

Only this year, 5 new projects of the H2020, Erasmus + and Creative Europe programmes have been launched. In 2019, two more initiatives are expected to start throughout the first term of the year, thus reaching the figure of 20 European projects in which IAAC has participated or coordinated so far.

IAAC, as a centre committed to the creation of an innovation hub at the 22@ technological district of Poblenou in Barcelona, has as a priority its participation in European Union research programmes such as Horizon 2020, Creative Europe and Erasmus+. Currently, IAAC has 12 projects ongoing which are leading and advanced initiatives in the field of architecture, urbanism, intelligent cities and citizen empowerment through technology managed by the Advanced Architecture Group and the Fab Lab Barcelona at IAAC: InnoChain, Grow Observatory, IScape, TCBL, DO-IT, SISCODE, DSISCALE, ROMI, DDMP, UrbiNat, Creative Food Cycles and Build.
