Laia Romero is Managing Director of Lobelia Earth, a pioneering company in the use of Earth Observation satellites to address the climate emergency. Lobelia develops and operates services targeted to study the state of the Earth’s resources. With more than 14 years of experience in climate studies with satellite data and technology, Laia works with international organisations on climate action based on evidence.
During the talk, different satellite applications relevant for climate policy will be presented, in the fields of air quality, climate diagnostics in urban areas, the economic impact of extreme events and plastic detection in oceans.
