The Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings (MAEB), directed by Daniel Ibañez and Vicente Guallart, is an Immersive Education Master allowing students to explore material and energy solutions across disciplines and scales. Taking full advantage of the unique location of the Valldaura Self-Sufficient Labs and using a practice-oriented approach, students will create a real size building prototype as the final Master project.
The Master in City & Technology (MaCT), directed by Areti Markopoulou, works on cities by exploring responsive, decentralised, productive, digital and hyper-connected systems. Master candidates will be exposed to new ways of approaching Urban Design, Citizen-based services, Urban Infrastructures and Mobility in order to develop and implement planning systems for nowadays cities based on real-time data.
The Master in Design for Emergent Futures (MDEF), co-created by IAAC and ELISAVA | Barcelona School of Design and Engineering harnesses the potential of digital fabrication, artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, and blockchain to address systemic defects of our current socio-economic paradigms. Directed by Tomás Díez and Oscar Tomico, MDEF investigates contemporary critical issues through constructive criticism, novel design methods and technological exploration.
