President of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia since June 2019, Xavier Marcet is also President of Lead to Change, a consultancy focused on strategic innovation for businesses, governments and universities based in Barcelona, Boston and Santiago de Chile. He is also the founder of 8Wires, a startup dealing with Big Data-related-issues. Formerly CEO of several companies in different sectors, he has led multiple projects in the field of public administration and universities.
As a consultant, he has worked on projects of strategy, innovation and corporate entrepreneurship in large companies, universities and institutions in France, England, Italy, Poland, USA, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Morocco. He realised his academic formation in different educational centres such as Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ESADE, IESE and HAAS Business School (UC Berkeley). Particularly interested by the academic field, he currently gives classes on strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship in Barcelona Business School (Pompeu FabraUniversity). Founder and current president of the Barcelona Drucker Society, he is also President of the Board of Trustees EUNCET Business School.
Author of several books, he most recently published “Cosas que aprendemos después” (Plataforma Editorial, 2010). “Innovación Pública” (Santiago de Chile, 2013) Esquivar la mediocridad ( 2018). Since 2007, he writes a blog
about innovation, strategy and entrepreneurship (www.xaviermarcet.com). He is also a regular contributor to the newspaper La Vanguardia in articles regarding Management.
