POSITION: Community Manager at Fab Lab Barcelona

ORGANIZATION

Fab Lab Barcelona, part of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), is one of the leading laboratories of the worldwide network of Fab Labs, a small-scale production and innovation laboratory, equipped with digital fabrication tools.

Fab Lab Barcelona develops several educational and research programs related to the applications and implications of digital fabrication. It develops projects in different scales, from smart devices for data collection by individuals (Smart Citizen), the new generation of Fab Labs (Green Fab Lab), to new production models for cities (Fab City Project).

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a enthusiastic, self sufficient, highly organized and creative person to manage our newsletter, web and social media accounts, with great interest in technology and innovation. The right profile should be able to mix writing skills, taking pictures and making short videos for social media, blog posts and other media. This profile would be in charge of the conception and implementation of the communication strategy for specific Fab Lab BCN projects, reporting to the Director of Communications.

TASKS

• Produce and maintain a communication plan including content calendar.
• Conceiving and executing campaigns on social media.
• Draft content, prepare images and post updates on accounts.
• Work with Project Managers to collect media stories and to plan custom made campaigns.
• Ensure deliverables are completed within schedule, with regular progress reporting

SKILLS NEEDED

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience and knowledge on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube), and advertisement on these channels.
• Previous experience and knowledge on creative copywriting development.
• Photo and Video editing skills.
• Knowledge on WordPress.

SKILLS PREFERRED

• Knowledge and understanding of basic HTML.
• Knowledge and understanding of MailChimp.

OTHER SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and comfortable working in an organisation with a “startup” mood.
• Excellent capacity to learn quickly and self teach as required.
• A passion for innovative ideas and a broad interest in the world – including business/science/technology, design/architecture, global development, entertainment/arts – will be highly appreciated.

MUSTS: EU Working permission, fluent English

SALARY: 10k €

Part-time dedication of 20h a week, with possible extension. Starting on September 17th 2018.
