Martin Rein-Cano – Creative Infidelities

Martin Rein-Cano was born in Buenos Aires in 1967. He studied Art History at Frankfurt University and Landscape Architecture at the Technical Universities of Hannover and Karlsruhe. In 1996 he founded the TOPOTEK 1 office, which has created and designed a large number of German and international projects ranging from masterplans to gardens, such as the Castle Park in Wolfsburg, the Sport facilities Heerenschürli in Zurich, the Superkilen park in Copenhagen and the Bord Gais Networks Centre in Dublin.
Martin Rein-Cano has been appointed as guest professor in Europe and North America. He frequently lectures at internationally renowned universities and cultural institutions and regularly serves on competition juries. Several professional books and articles have been published exclusively on his work, which has been honoured with numerous awards and prizes, among these the 2018 AILA national Landscape Architecture Award for the HOTA project in Gold Coast, Australia; the 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the Superkilen Park in Copenhagen and 2015 the 1st Prize of the German Landscape Prize of the Association of German Landscape Architects for the redesign of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Abbey Lorsch.
