Bosch Aymerich Scholarship 2026 Winners

IAAC is proud to announce the first two recipients of the Bosch Aymerich International Scholarship Programme: Amanda Luisa Koivisto Nevado and Álvaro Mieres de Santiago.

Initiated by IAAC with the support of Fundación Bosch Aymerich, this first-of-its-kind research scholarship connects Spanish graduates with MIT faculty to push the boundaries of architecture and the built environment.

This September, both scholars will begin a six-month fully funded research residency at MIT in Boston, under the mentorship of Cristina Parreño and Roi Salgueiro, Spanish faculty at MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning. In March 2027, they return to Barcelona for a six-month professional integration phase at IAAC, formalised through an employment contract with access to Fab Lab Barcelona, Valldaura Labs and the Barcelona Urban Tech Hub.

The programme carries the legacy of Dr. Josep María Bosch Aymerich — the first Spaniard to graduate from MIT, who studied alongside Aalto, Le Corbusier and Gropius — and reflects a shared commitment between IAAC, Fundación Bosch Aymerich and Spanish faculty at MIT to connect Spanish talent with the world’s most ambitious research ecosystems.
