On June 27th, the IAAC Graduation Ceremony for the Academic Year 2023-24 and 2022-24 (for 2-year programmes) took place at the Valldaura Labs, situated in the Collserola Park. The event was attended by almost 250 students from more than 70 countries, along with their families. The ceremony was opened by IAAC Director Daniel Ibañez and IAAC Academic Director Areti Markopoulou, followed by the officiation by IAAC Head of Studies Mathilde Marengo and IAAC Student Services Secretary Shreya Rangholia for the diploma presentation.
Representatives from the 1st and 2nd year programmes delivered emotional speeches, sharing personal experiences and reflections on their time at IAAC. Many spoke about how the Institute transformed their lives through the knowledge gained in architecture, robotics, design, and urbanism.
The event continued with the diploma presentations for various programmes, including the Master in Advanced Architecture, Master in City & Technology, Master in Robotics and Advanced Construction, Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings & Biocities, Master in Advanced Computation for Architecture & Design, Master in Design for Emergent Futures, Postgraduate in 3D Printing Architecture, Postgraduate Diploma in Fab Academy, Postgraduate Diploma in Fabricademy, and Master in Design for Distributed Innovation. The graduation for the Maestría Online en Ciudades: El Urbanismo Próximo (which will be renamed Maestría en Urbanismo Próximo starting next year) is scheduled to take place in July.
During the diploma presentation students were individually called up to receive their certificates from the Masters’ Directors and Coordinators. The celebration continued with a convivial gathering featuring food, drinks, and a DJ session.
