IAAC Exhibition 2026: Architects of Change. Prototyping the Future
A living lab of ideas, materials, and radical visions
IAAC closed the 2025–26 academic year with Architects of Change. Prototyping the Future – an end-of-year exhibition bringing together experimental prototypes developed by students across all of IAAC’s master’s programmes, alongside the Best Projects Awards ceremony, held at the IAAC Atelier Building in Barcelona.
Spread across two floors of IAAC’s Atelier Building, the exhibition transformed the space into a living lab of innovation — where materials, data, machines and ideas converged into new ways of inhabiting the world.
The prototypes spanned the full breadth of IAAC’s research agenda across Architecture, Computation & AI, Digital Fabrication & Robotics, Design and Regenerative Buildings & Ecological Urbanisms:
Bio-based and synthetic materials
Self-sufficient and regenerative buildings
Robotic and automated construction
Data-driven urban planning
AI-powered architectural intelligence
Citizen-led participatory platforms
Each programme has its own vision. Together, they form something bigger: a generation of architects who don’t wait for the future – they build it.
The exhibition was accompanied by the Best Projects Awards – recognising the most outstanding work developed throughout the academic year across IAAC’s master’s programmes, highlighting the depth, ambition and diversity of the research and prototypes produced by this year’s students.
Architects of Change. Prototyping the Future will remain open until September 2026. If you would like to visit, please contact press@iaac.net.
