On Friday June 30th, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) hosted the opening of the 2023 End of the Year Exhibition and Awards Ceremony. The exhibition, “Thriving Together in Future Cities,” showcases students projects that intend to build a more inclusive, resilient, and advantageous future for communities, spaces, and the environment.
In the middle of global challenges, the exhibition urges us to think about how we can design, build, and create new experiences to grow as a community. Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to consider our common goals for the future as well as how we may shape them through collaborative design processes with a variety of different human, non-human, cultural, and technological creatures. The projects exhibited by the different educational programmes demonstrate innovative solutions to address pressing issues.
During the Awards Ceremony, presented by IAAC Head of Studies Mathilde Marengo, a total of 40 Awards were delivered to remarkable students as appreciation for their accomplishments. The Awards Ceremony not only celebrated the individual achievements of these students but also highlighted the collaborative spirit and supportive environment encouraged by IAAC.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the impact of IAAC’s programmes in shaping a better future through creative innovation. Located at the IAAC Atelier (Carrer de Pujades, 59) the exhibition can be visited on selected dates from July to September. Register here to attend.
