This spring the Athens Digital Arts Festival presents FutuRetro, a celebratory 18th edition and a five-day gathering in the heart of Athens that brings together a diverse global community of artists and an eclectic, inquisitive audience. From the 25th – 29th of May, the building complex of former notoshome and Kotzia Square, will be revived to host an innovative exciting program with works from 12 categories, ranging from Video Art to Interactive Installations.
The Master in Advanced Architecture (MAA) Faculty Cristian Rizzuti will take part in the Festival with Amnesia, an immersive installation conceived as a five-stage painting performance and designed earlier this year, as a part of the Llum Festival in Barcelona. In Amnesia memory comes to life on a circular canvas, and its pulse, its vitality, its loss and what remains of it. The light, in contact with the material of the canvas, becomes real in colour, becomes tangible. The colour starts to orchestrate a dance of real time visual-sound compositions that trace the pulsing of life and memory.
Cristian is an interactive media artist based in Barcelona, Faculty in the first and second year of the IAAC MAA. Cristian has presented his works in major events and locations in Europe. Always inspired by Science and mathematics, Cristian has focused his personal investigation on the role of human perception and the definition of synesthetic spaces. Being inspired by digital arts, live media and interactive experiments, Cristian’s works can be described as light sculpture.
