MDEFest 2026 — Myths Of Tomorrow: Unfolding New Beliefs
Every edition of MDEFest starts from the same conviction: that design is not a way of decorating the future, but of interrogating it. This year, students from the Master in Design for Emergent Futures gathered under the theme Myths Of Tomorrow: Unfolding New Beliefs – and for one day, opened their work to the public.
First and second year students presented projects, installations and live activations that went far beyond the conventional degree exhibition. The work engaged communities, tested alternative scenarios and brought speculative worlds to life – using design as a tool to question the beliefs, systems and narratives that shape the present.
MDEFest is where research becomes experience. Where ideas that have been developed over months of investigation are finally opened up – not just for evaluation, but for encounter. This edition confirmed once again why MDEF is one of the most genuinely experimental programmes in design education today.
