Master’s in Advanced Interaction (MAI) students presented their project PlayBall! for this special event in Barcelona, which turned out to be one of the most outstanding and acclaimed installations of Llum BCN 2018.

From February 16 to 18 IAAC participated in Barcelona Llum Festival 2018 which took place in Poblenou’s district. In past years Llum BCN was celebrated in parallel with the Santa Eulàlia festival, lighting up streets, buildings and façades in Barcelona’s Old Town (Ciutat Vella), but this year the festival got its own and special spotlight in Poblenou’s district, where a vast circuit of light art installations were installed. IAAC has always participated in this event with innovative and pioneering projects carried out by Master’s in Advanced Interaction students.

This year the number of shows, transformed spaces and installations were multiplied, and featured internationally renowned artists as well as local emerging talent from universities of design, art and architecture in Barcelona. Hundreds of curious people came up to IAAC during these days in which friends, couples, families and young children enjoyed an innovative, experimental and sensory work such as PlayBall!: a project that blurs the lines between art, science and technology.
