Izaskun Chinchilla

Izaskun Chinchilla is a PhD architect, who founded her own studio in 2001, focused on housing, museum and urban planning projects.

She has taught and researched at IE School of Architecture and Design, Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSAM), École Spécial D’Architecture de París, Universidad CEU San Pablo de Madrid, Hâute École d’Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva and the Universidad de Alicante. She is a Senior Teaching Fellow, Senior Research Associate and Public Engagement Fellow at Barlett School of Architecture (UCL London).

Her work has been widely published and has been exhibited in a variety of galleries and institutions, including the Venice Biennale, in 2002 and 2006; Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana de Chile, in 2002; Bienal de São Paulo, in 2003; “Semillas”, a traveling exhibition shown in six Latin American countries, in 2004/2005; “Jóvenes Arquitectos Españoles (JAE)” a traveling exhibition, in 2008/2011; “New Trends in Architecture in Europe and Asia” in Tokyo, 2008; Laboratorio Gran Vía Fundación Telefónica de Madrid, in 2010; and “Innovación Abierta” at the Museo del Canal Interoceánico de Panamá, in 2012.
