Carles has lead open innovation and ecosystem orchestration projects with cities and organizations worldwide. With dotopen, he was responsible for the development of Appcircus, the largest global community of app events culminating at the Mobile Premier Awards, and of Hack-at-home, the first online scalable incubator that empowers communities to build apps to address urban and social challenges and the basis for projects like the Philippine Transit, Open Helsinki and Sanitation App Challenges or currently the Smart City App Hack.
In collaboration with Barcelona City Council, he has lead the development of Apps4bcn, a portal –and app- that enables citizens and visitors to discover the best apps to enjoy the city to its fullest.
Carles has been long been an enabler of the innovation ecosystem, he was Director of Art Center College of Design in Barcelona and Strategic Development Director at Barcelona Media. Previously he was lead the Mobile Communications practice at Frost & Sullivan from San Francisco and later from London. Carles holds a Bachelors in Law from Universitat de Barcelona and an MBA from ESADE.
