Child Protection Policy
The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) acknowledges its institutional responsibility to protect and promote the well-being of all children and young people involved in its research, educational programs, and cultural outreach activities.
IAAC is committed to maintaining the highest legal, ethical, and moral standards to ensure a safe environment for those under the age of 18. This commitment is grounded in international and European legal frameworks, including the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, and Spanish legislation on the protection of minors.
All members of the IAAC community — including staff, researchers, students, collaborators, and volunteers — are bound by this policy. Child safeguarding is a shared responsibility across the entire organisation, guided by the principles of zero tolerance toward abuse or neglect, non-discrimination, and the best interests of the child above all other institutional objectives.
The policy establishes clear protocols for informed consent, data protection, risk assessment, mandatory reporting, and a code of conduct for anyone working directly with minors. In the event of a suspected incident, all staff are required to notify the IAAC Safeguarding Officer immediately.
