What will be presented?
The Digital Matter Studio explores how architecture can shift from extractive construction practices toward circular, regenerative, and material-driven design approaches. Through the integration of reclaimed materials, urban mining, embodied carbon analysis, and advanced digital technologies, students investigate new workflows for monitoring, reusing, and reconstituting material resources while redefining building lifecycles and aesthetics. Aligned with the UIA 2026 “Becoming Embodied” agenda, the studio positions material innovation within broader ecological, social, and political discussions surrounding decarbonization, resource equity, and the future of sustainable architecture.
