Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca is well-known in the international art scene for his Mechanotronic Performances and Robotic Installations. Founding member of La Fura dels Baus, he worked in the company as Art Director, Musician and Performer from the late seventies to the early nineties.

Antúnez’s work is based on the observation of the expression of human desires, which is translated into the creation of complex hybrid systems, incorporating scientific and technological elements. Antúnez has presented his work, and performed in numerous international venues and Festivals, gaining awards and distinctions, such as Best New Media at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montreal, and the Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica.
