On Tuesday, June 5, the founder of IAAC and former chief architect of the city of Barcelona (2011-2015) Vicente Guallart will give a lecture at the prestigious Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, Romania. The conference titled “Reinventing how we design and make architecture” focuses on the new trends in advanced and sustainable architecture aiming to revolutionise this field. Among the topics tackled, he will talk about new ways of building and designing in line with a greater respect for the environment, low polluting emissions, energy and resource efficiency, the Internet of things and the integration of self-sufficient habitats into the environment.
In his lecture, he will address these issues and the work that IAAC is developing along these lines, as a pioneering school in Europe in the field of advanced, self-sufficient and sustainable architecture. Guallart, as co-director of the Master in Advanced in Ecological Buildings (MAEB), will also take the opportunity to present this new educational programme, which will begin in October 2018, in order to explain the contents and career opportunities of this new specialisation in architecture to the bachelor students at the Ion Mincu University in Bucharest.
