Valldaura Labs is a campus of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) located in the Collserola Park. This space focuses on education and research on self-sufficient habitats and its vision is to connect ecology and technology through design to develop new paradigms in the field of architecture and the environment.
Among the most significant milestones, visiting Valldaura Labs will allow you to see two prototypes of mass timber buildings built with zero kilometer materials. To build them, a team made up of students, professors and researchers have sustainable handled the forest to take advantage of wood resources that in turn promote the growth of the rest of the park’s trees and thus carbon sequestration.
The visits will take place in open and ventilated spaces or outdoors with small groups of people.

Valldaura Labs es un campus del Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) ubicado en el Parque de Collserola. Este espacio se enfoca en educación e investigación sobre hábitats autosuficientes y su visión es conectar ecología y tecnología a través del diseño para desarrollar nuevos paradigmas en el campo de la arquitectura y el medio ambiente.
Entre los hitos más significativos, visitar Valldaura Labs permitirá ver dos prototipos de edificios de madera de alta tecnología construidos con materiales de kilómetro cero. Para construirlos, un equipo compuesto por estudiantes, profesores e investigadores han desarrollado una gestión sostenible del bosque para aprovechar recursos madereros que a su vez promueven el crecimiento del resto de los árboles del parque y así el secuestro de carbono.
Las visitas se harán a través de espacios abiertos y bien ventilados o al aire libre con pequeños grupos de personas.
