The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia – IAAC, wants to support the development of new architectural approaches by training professionals to take informed, creative and innovative actions in order to respond to the challenges of today. For this reason, IAAC and its industry collaborators offer a partial scholarship to study in IAAC’s Master in Advanced Architecture which begins in October 2022!
The objective of this initiative is to prepare the new generation of multidisciplinary skilled architects to practice radical architecture that creates positive cultural, environmental and social impact. Using real case studies and in collaboration with the industry, research centres and the European Commission, the scholarship recipient will work on novel architectural proposals through computational design and digital fabrication combined with the advancements from the construction sector,  material science, synthetic biology and environmental science among others.

If you have a bachelor’s degree and you are enthusiastic about sustainable, intelligent and responsive architecture, then this is your master’s degree! You have until May 26th to send your scholarship application!

About the Master

IAAC’s Master in Advanced Architecture is a unique program aiming to revolutionise current architectural approaches and methods, training professionals to become changemakers in the arena of architecture and the built environment towards sustainable and responsive solutions. To do so the Advanced Architecture Agenda with a “Learning by Doing” and “Design by Research” methodology allowing to critically think out of the box and materialize novel architectural solutions for the current and future challenges related to the environment, society and to the linear and homogeneous approach in design and building.

Description of the Scholarship

Industry Scholarship:
30%, 50% and 80% Partial Scholarships on the tuition fee
(normal tuition fee for non-scholarship positions is:
MAA01: € Non-EU: 18.750€ // EU: 15.000€
MAA02: € Non-EU: 30.400€ // EU: 24.350€)

Duration of the program:
9 Months – From October 2022 to June 2023
18 Months – From October 2022 to June 2024 – Thesis Final Submission: September 2024
