The first part of the program offered a comprehensive overview of the most relevant developments from Mass Madera – Built by Nature and the broader Built by Nature network.

The session continued with presentations of two initiatives supported by the Built by Nature, featuring teams from SUMA Arquitectura and Ecomentro, who shared the progress and vision behind their projects. This was followed by the announcement of the winning proposals from the Mass Madera Student Competition, showcasing the next generation of talent contributing to this transformation.
Debunking myths and broadening the conversation
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the premiere of the new audiovisual series “Myths About Mass Timber Construction in Spain”, developed by Mass Madera – Built by Nature. The series aims to expand public understanding and address misconceptions that continue to shape perceptions of building with wood. The screening was followed by a short discussion on its relevance and potential impact.
Participants also had the opportunity to hear from Spain’s leading producers of industrialized mass timber, fostering an open discussion on the current challenges and opportunities of the sector with a particular focus on the Galician context, one of the most dynamic timber regions in the country.
