IAAC Alumna Maria Cynthia Funk (Master in Advanced Architecture, class of 2015) explains the impact her experience at IAAC had in her career by learning a new and more disruptive way of conceiving architecture, focused on offering proposals and solutions to the challenges of the future affecting our cities and habitats.

Now back in Manila, Philippines, Maria Cynthia is currently the Associate Dean of the Environment Studies Cluster, School of Design & Arts at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. She advocates a design practice that is interdisciplinary, multi-scalar and puts the individual in the center of design, with the breakthrough goals of innovation and inclusion. She runs her own practice at the Atelier Funk Architecture with research-based projects.

Architects, engineers, designers, urbanists and many more profiles have undergone IAAC experience in Barcelona since 2001. Where are they now? IAAC Alumni Stories follows the paths our graduates have taken after finishing their studies in Advanced Architecture, City & Technology and Advanced Interaction at our centre in Barcelona. All of them have travelled far and wide beyond IAAC’s doorstep in Barcelona.
