Your Design – Your Way, a design master workshop
15th and 16th of February at IAAC
with Ronen Kadushin

As makers convincingly push on to become a cultural movement, they create a new breed of products that is free from traditional product design discipline, and the need to be perfect. These products are an authentic expression of the person or collaboration that created them, and with the practice of openness, successful products are quickly copied and modified. But to reach bigger audiences and have an impact on the way products come into the world, a maker has to consider the aesthetic qualities of hers or his creation, and the manner and content that is communicated through it. This workshop aims to elaborate authentic expression by introducing a design process based on storytelling. A guided storytelling design process sets a creative environment for generating ideas and concepts, understanding their potential, and developing them into objects that reflect your character and unique way of expression. The workshop is not about the technical or production aspects of fabrication, it is a learning experience where you, your qualities, skills, creativity and energy are the focus.

In the workshop you will learn:

– Find design ideas and concepts.
– Explore the potential qualities of a design.
– Make a design meaningful to you.
– Communicate ideas and opinions through objects.
– Integrate elements into an aesthetic design.
– Document your design process.
– Reflect upon and evaluate your work.

The workshop is intended for people with some experience in 3D modeling and digital production, but you certainly dont have to be an expert. In case you are, you will also contribute your skills to help other participants.

You can bring along your computer with a 2D or 3D software, but a pencil and paper are a must.
The workshop is held in English.
WORKSHOP FEE: €50
