Wednesday, May 24th, from 11:30 AM, during the Construmat Congress, IAAC will showcase TOVA at Sala Congreso. Edouard Cabay and Alexandre Dubor, Directors of the Postgraduate in 3D Printing Architecture, will lead a discussion on TOVA, highlighting its significance as an outcome of IAAC’s continuous research efforts. This project represents IAAC’s commitment to exploring innovative approaches in tackling future social and environmental challenges through their diverse educational and research programs.

During the Construmat fair, the prototype “Materialitree,” crafted in Valldaura Labs, will take center stage encapsulating the entire process of wood production and processing while integrating cutting-edge technologies. This installation, created by Daniel Ibáñez, Vicente Guallart, and Bruno Ganem from IAAC, showcases how humanity has shaped trees to create practical objects for specific purposes. Materialitree stands as a powerful symbol of wood’s sustainable potential and serves as a timeless reminder of its capacity to mitigate environmental impact for generations to come.
