IAAC Graduation Ceremony 2025

Celebrating the Class of 2024–2025 and 2023–2024 at IAAC

On July 4th, IAAC – Advanced Architecture Barcelona held its annual Graduation Ceremony, honouring the graduating classes of 2023–2024 and 2022–2024 (for two-year programmes). This year, 253 students from over 70 countries received their diplomas, marking the culmination of an intense, hands-on academic journey rooted in experimentation, innovation and community.

The ceremony opened with a welcome address by Juan Velayos, President of the IAAC Board of Trustees, followed by speeches from Vicente Guallart, IAAC Co-Founder, and Areti Markopoulou, IAAC Academic Director. The final remarks came from Mathilde Marengo, Head of Studies. The event was presented and conducted by Shreya Rangholia, IAAC Student Services Secretary, who also led the diploma presentation.

Graduates from across the institute’s programmes were invited to the stage—celebrating the completion of a transformative period of experimentation, collaboration and research. Spanning disciplines such as advanced architecture, urban planning, artificial intelligence, robotics, ecological buildings, and digital design, IAAC’s educational ecosystem fosters critical thinking, technological fluency and systemic innovation.

Throughout the event, student representatives from both first and second-year programmes shared personal reflections on their time at IAAC—highlighting the academic intensity, international community and values of collaboration that define the institute’s approach to architectural education.

After the ceremony, students, families, faculty and friends came together for a festive gathering to mark the end of the academic year—celebrating with food, drinks and music in the heart of the IAAC campus.
