IAAC Graduation 2023

On June 29th, the IAAC Graduation Ceremony took place at the Valldaura Self-sufficient Labs, officiated by IAAC Head of Studies Mathilde Marengo. More than two hundred students from seventy different countries, accompanied by their families, attended the event, which was opened by IAAC Founders Vicente Guallart and Manuel Gausa. The end-of-year speech was delivered by IAAC Academic Director Areti Markopoulou.

Representatives from the 1st and 2nd year programmes gave speeches before the diploma delivery for the Master in Advanced Architecture, Master in City & Technology, Master in Robotics and Advanced Construction, Master in Advanced Computation for Architecture & Design, Master in Design for Emergent Futures, Postgraduate in 3D Printing Architecture, Postgraduate Diploma in Fab Academy, Postgraduate Diploma in Fabricademy and Master in Design for Distributed Innovation programmes. The graduation for the Maestría Online en Ciudades: El Urbanismo Próximo and Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings & Biocities programmes will take place in the months of July and August.

The moment when the diplomas were awarded was filled with emotion as students were called up one by one to receive their recognition from the Masters’ Directors, the coordinators, and faculty. The celebration carried on with a warm gathering, with food and drinks, accompanied by a dj session.

The day after, on June 30th, IAAC Atelier hosted the opening of the End of the Year Exhibition and Awards Ceremony. The exhibition, titled “Thriving Together in Future Cities,” served as a platform to showcase the proposals and designs that aim to create more inclusive, resilient, and positive futures for communities, spaces, and the environment. IAAC Head of Studies, Mathilde Marengo, hosted the award ceremony, where a total of 48 awards from 8 different Masters programmes were delivered to students for their excellent projects.
