Valentino Tagliaboschi
Digital and Robotic Fabrication Expert / CIEE Faculty

Valentino Tagliaboschi is an architect and building engineer with a strong passion for digital fabrication technologies in the AEC industry. Presently, he holds the position of Digital and Robotic Fabrication Expert at IAAC.

In 2020, he completed his studies at the University of Pisa, where his thesis centred on the design and robotic fabrication of the HexBox Canopy. This innovative timber shell structure was a collaborative effort involving an international team of researchers from the Digital Timber Construction (DTC) research group at the University of Kaiserslautern and the University of Sydney School of Architecture, Design, and Planning. Their collective work on this project resulted in a conference paper presented at the IASS Annual Symposium 2020/21 which received the Tsuboi Award for the most outstanding paper presented and published in the conference proceedings.

Following graduation, he joined Matter Make in Malta as an Architectural Design and Digital Fabricator. During his time there, he focused on engineering and fabricating advanced and technically challenging projects in the realm of architecture and interior design. Employing computational design methods, he utilised various digital manufacturing processes, including robotic and CNC milling, FDM and Clay 3D printing, and laser cutting, to bring these projects to life.
