Mireia Lozano Carbassé is an urban sociologist, planner and researcher. She is currently the coordinator of MaUP, The Maestría en Urbanismo Próximo (MaUP) – previously MOeC – and researcher at the Urban Sciences Lab. Mireia has an academic background from Sciences Po Paris’ Urban School, Tufts University’s Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning (UEP), and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has previously worked as project manager and policy expert leading projects in urban resilience, sustainable development and environmental impact assessment at international organizations such as UN-Habitat’s Urban Resilience Hub and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). As a co-founder of aquí cooperative, Mireia also brings extensive experience in co-creation processes, gender+ approaches and collective climate adaptation. Her research focuses on spatial politics, planetary boundaries, commoning processes and co-design methodologies.
