Felipe Riola Parada studied architecture and structural engineering at the universities of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. In 2017 he completed his doctorate at the Technical University of Vienna, culminating in the dissertation: “Timber-Steel Hybrid Beams for Multi-Storey Buildings”.
After completing his studies, he worked for several years as an architect and structural engineer. In 2011 he joined the Vienna University of Technology, where he worked at the Institute for Architectural Sciences’ structural planning and timber engineering department, until he relocated to Wuppertal. Since October 2020, he has held the position of professor of structural engineering at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
