IAAC Scholarship Competition

The IAAC Scholarship Competition offers a limited number of scholarships for individuals whose project proposals address global challenges in architecture, design, urbanism, and technology. Future IAAC students are invited to submit project proposals to the Institute’s Scholarship Competition, which seeks to provide solutions to pressing global challenges.
Partial tuition fee waivers ranging between 40 – 50%
- Open to applicants for eligible on-campus and online programs (excludes Fab Academy and Fabricademy).
- Applicants must meet the minimum admission criteria established by IAAC
- Applicants must have submitted an IAAC programme application to be considered the scholarship.
Online Programme – Master in Advanced Computation for Architecture & Design (MACAD)

Interested applicants must follow these steps:
1) First Step:
Complete an application to an eligible programme via the
IAAC Application Portal. The application must include the documentation outlined below and an application fee of 50€.
Application Documentation Required:
- Letter of intent in English
- Portfolio of work
- Curriculum Vitae or Resume
- Two (2) letters of recommendation in English
- Copy of bachelor’s diploma or certificate of imminent graduation
- Valid passport or EU ID
2) Second Step:
- Applicants must submit a document containing a proposal, design strategy, solution, or system based on a project brief assigned by the academic committee of each eligible program (See project briefs in the section below). The document should include the strategy/rationale behind the proposal. An additional page can be used to include pictures/illustrations (optional). Format: A4 PDF document, max 3 pages, up to 5MB.
- Applicants must also submit a 30- 45-second video introducing/pitching the proposal, design strategy, or project brief. Applicants must include their name and the programme they are applying for.
Tuition waivers will be awarded by the IAAC Academic Committee based on the quality of the proposal in addition to an assessment of the applicant’s academic and professional merit evaluated by the information and documentation provided in their application.
Evaluation Process:
- The IAAC Academic Committee will evaluate the proposal of the candidate, as well as other supporting documents.
- Candidates with the highest evaluations will proceed to the second stage, consisting of an interview via videoconference with the academic committee.
Successful applicants will be notified of their selection for a scholarship and the amount of the scholarship in their acceptance letter.
Project Brief
Master in Advanced Computation for Architecture & Design (MACAD)- Online Programme
Scholarship Prompt: Building Copilots: AI assisted design – Considering the state of generative AI and it’s current capabilities, envision how it will enable the generation of buildings with their full complexity, beyond just their geometry. Submissions will be assessed by their feasibility, technical accuracy, and understanding of the states of the art in AI oriented design technologies, as opposed to imaginative speculation.
- Submissions should be in text format as detailed as possible, listing references and including conceptual diagrams that explain the proposal.
- PDF document, A4 orientation, 1-2 pages. Max 10MB file
