The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia will host next October 26th the award ceremony in Barcelona as the main academic partner of 2A Continental Architectural Awards for Asia and Europe (2ACAA).

The “2A Magazine Awards for Asia and Europe”, with the theme “ Innovative Contextual Design”, is aimed to recognize and praise an individual’s or group’s substantial contribution to today’s architecture. This gathering is a manifestation of the diversity of cultures, identities, themes, ideas and experiences in architecture. It is also a great platform to share, explore and discuss the theory and practice of architecture in a professional environment.

The award is directed by Ahmad Zohadi and has been composed by an evaluating jury made up by architects Carme Pinós (Carme Pinós Studio, Member of the Architects Association of Catalonia), Yoko Okuyama (Former Fellow of Kenzo Tange’s Studio, Founder of Sohseisha Architecture and Design Firm) , Abbas Gharib (Founder of Studio Gharib & Tenstar Community), Willy Müller (Co-Founder of IAAC and IAAC’s Urban Sciences Lab Director) and Ali Basbous (IAAC Faculty member and Founder of BAD, Built by Associative Data).

Throughout this day, the Institute will also host the Interaction Forum of 2ACAA, in which several speakers who are candidates of 2ACCAA 2018 will share their professional architectural topics at the event. Golmar Khatibi (editorial board member of 2A Magazine), Mathilde Marengo (IAAC Head of Studies) and Alex Mademochoritis (MaCT Programme Coordinator and Seminar Faculty) will be the moderators of this panel discussion.
