​Mireia Lozano Carbassé

MaUP Coordinator / Researcher (she/her)

​Mireia Lozano Carbassé is a Spanish urban sociologist, planner, and researcher. She currently serves as the coordinator of the Master in Urbanism Próximo (MaUP) and as a researcher at the Urban Sciences Lab. Mireia is also the co-founder of aquí SCCL, an urban praxis cooperative based in Barcelona that promotes spatial justice through community engagement and placemaking.
Mireia holds a Master from the Urban School of Sciences Po, and was pre-doctoral fellow at the T.H.Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University. She has previously worked in Spain, France, India, Colombia and the United States where she has developed her expertise in urban sociology, environmental impact assessment, urban diplomacy and sustainable development. As a co-founder of aquí cooperative, Mireia also brings extensive experience in co-creation processes, gender+ approaches, and collective climate adaptation. Her research focuses on spatial politics, planetary boundaries, commoning processes, and co-design methodologies.
