How will IAAC adapt to Covid-19 and ensure safety in the IAAC Campus?
1. Will students have access to the campus for their courses?
IAAC will facilitate a hybrid learning approach in the Pujades and Valldaura campus, where classes can be attended both on-campus and online, allowing students to follow the beginning of the courses whatever their situation be, while offering all practical and laboratory work within the facilities, in an on-campus format.
2. How were the Spaces adapted?
– Students will have access to the Pujades Campus from Monday to Friday.
– The access to the Valldaura Campus, where students are living, will be limited to Students and Faculty. More information below.
– The presence of the students in the Pujades and Valldaura campus will be tracked at any moment with the use of signing lists and IT devices.
– During the time dedicated to individual or team work, students will have the possibility to use only their dedicated individual workspace
3. Will students have to wear a mask?
Yes, students, faculty and team members will have to wear a mask all the time inside the classrooms of Pujades and Valldaura Campus according to the regulations given by Catalan and Spanish public bodies. Eating inside the facilities of Pujades Campus will be prohibited to ensure to respect this regulation.
In Valldaura Campus , people that are living in lockdown mode will not need to wear a mask, because they are studying in their home. Teachers and visitors will use it.
4. Will IAAC measure the temperature of the students?
Yes, everyone who enters the buildings of Pujades and Valldaura will pass through a thermal-scanner.
Access will be allowed only to students, faculty, team members and allowed visitors whose temperature is lower than 37.5 celsius degrees.
5. What will IAAC do to ensure that students who reach the Pujades and Valldaura Campuses from other countries are not ill?
IAAC will organise a PCR test for all the students, before their arrival to IAAC
6. What will happen if a student has doubt or questions about Covid-19?
IAAC will indicate a direct contact for the student with a person responsible for all the issues related to covid.
7. What happens if there is a student or employee who is ill?
A Protocol for the management of the situation after possible infection is being created based on the current regulation.
Students who will present possible covid symptoms in the Pujades and Valldaura campus, will be temporary hosted from the classroom in an appropriately organized isolation room in IAAC, while the institute with the collaboration of the local health authorities, will help to manage a safe displacement and movement of the infected student to the health center to perform PCR test.
8. What are the actions specific to the Valldaura Campus?
Besides the previous mentioned actions and regulations, the use of the Valldaura Campus will be regulated as it follows:
– The Campus will be divided into public, semi-public and private areas. Only students and staff living in Valldaura will have the possibility to have access to the Private areas.
In the semi-public areas (which includes the classrooms and laboratory) only faculty, employees and students will have access. In these areas, all the previous information related to the Pujades and Valldaura Campus are valid.
The public areas (which includes auditorium and external space) will be open to visitors based on previous information, registration, temperature control, etc.
The safety of our community will count on the collaboration of each member, that will have the responsibility to respect regulations.
