Nikoleta Mougkasi

Nikoleta Mougkasi is a Greek architect and researcher specialising in computational design to digital fabrication processes.

She holds a Masters degree in Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece, 2015) and a Masters in Advanced Architecture from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (Spain, 2018).

Since her early academic years she has been involved in research programs (“Confrontation of dysfunction of network of Day Nursery in the Municipality of Athens”Urban Environment Laboratory NTUA, 2012 – “Architectural and Structural Analysis of traditional buildings and complexes in Mani, Greece”, NTUA, 2011) and architecture exhibitions (Site Effects_22, SNFCC, 2015 – Researcher’s Night, NTUA, 2015/2016).

Her thesis was selected and presented, in 2016, at the 9th International Conference on Auditorium Acoustics in Paris. She also participated in the national acoustic’s conference AKOUSTIKI 2016, as a member of the team presenting the project “Remedial acoustics of a large modern auditorium (TMAX) in the NTUA”. She has collaborated with various architecture studios and construction companies, mainly focusing on architecture competitions, product design and fabrication.

Her research interests lay on multiscalar approaches, working on product, building and urban scale, and researching how each one of them can change the way we live and experience the city of the future.

She is currently collaborating with IAAC as a Computational Design and Studio Assistant for the Master in Advanced Architecture and the CIEE Global Architecture and Design program.
