Expanding the traditional role of design is a continuous thread in Steffen’s career as designer and entrepreneur. As CDO at dotopen his work ranges from identifying user needs to defining compelling value propositions and creating engaging digital products and services. Steffen is co-founder of Appcircus, dotopen’s global community of app experts that engage in creating and presenting apps worldwide. Steffen builds on a 10 year career as an innovation consultant bringing together business, anthropology and design to develop growth strategies for international clients across industries. As consultant Steffen held various positions from partner at the Hamburg based consultancy anima to manager at innovation consultancy A Piece of Pie in Barcelona, to freelancing consultant at Oliver Wyman, Barcelona. Before still, Steffen was Art Director at SinnerSchrader AG in Hamburg (Germany) leading e-Commerce projects across different sectors. Steffen studied at the renowned Art Center College of Design, Pasadena (USA) and the Design Academy Eindhoven (Netherlands). He regularly teaches master classes at the Istituto Europeo di Design and Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, Barcelona.
